Emil Berliner (also known as Emile Berliner in the USA; * 20. Mai 1851 in Hannover; † 3. August 1929 in Washington, D.C.) is best known for inventing the gramophone and the gramophone record. He also received patents on other inventions, such as an early form of the helicopter, which could carry twice its own weight as early as 1908. Whether he possessed a bicycle is unknown.
